Overland Park, KS – April 8, 2021 – INDATEL is celebrating Justin Forte’s fifth year anniversary with the company. Justin serves as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at INDATEL.
In his role as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Justin oversees how all the departments fit together. He is responsible for ensuring the company’s processes flow seamlessly including throughput, quote times, and turnaround times. Justin also spends a lot of his time analyzing data, looking for bottlenecks, and finding ways to fix them.
According to Justin, the last five years have been quite a journey. “When I first started at INDATEL, it was just me. I was the entire sales team,” he laughed. Today, the team is made up of six talented sales professionals. Justin and the rest of the INDATEL team put a lot of their energy into looking for ways to simplify things for their vendors and member companies.
“Our goal is to make the process as easy as buying slippers on Amazon,” he said. “Every day when I wake up, I think about how easy that process is and how we can bring that to our 700 rural partners that are all depending on us to make it easy for folks to buy their network.”
Growing from a small group of four employees when Justin first started, to now 16, has been one of the most rewarding facets for him. He’s also enjoyed working for a member-owned organization. “I’d never experienced working for a member-owned organization before joining INDATEL and the camaraderie that you build with everyone involved,” he said. “Every day is extremely rewarding and brings new challenges.”
Justin has made many contributions over the years and is a driving force toward the company’s growth. He has also created a positive impact on INDATEL’s culture and people. “If I’m being honest, I struggled to find INDATEL’s mission early on,” he said. “After visiting with some of the member CEOs, the picture became clear. Since then, I’ve fought hard to implement changes and introduce automation to INDATEL.”
INDATEL is a company dedicated to promoting employee performance, ambition, and morale. “INDATEL gave me the chance to coach, mentor, and lead,” Justin said. “In many sales organizations, if you’re a successful sales rep and producing at a high level for the company, it’s really tough to move to a leadership role.” Justin has accomplished a lot in his time as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, including automating processes, introducing new software, implementing INDATEL’s network management system, hiring a business development and marketing partner, and adding new team members to the INDATEL family.
Five years from now, Justin sees INDATEL doing more in the channel space, helping channel partners and agents connect to locations in rural America. He also sees INDATEL working with the federal government, as well as enterprises.
In his free time, Justin enjoys playing music, spending time outdoors, and cheering on Kansas City sports. “I’ve always been a champion of the underdog and never been one to jump on the bandwagon,” he said. “That’s sort of how I look at INDATEL too. It’s an opportunity for us to bring the small fiber providers together to compete with the large carriers. We stand shoulder to shoulder and fight to improve customer experience and deliver a product that’s better than anything else out there.”
INDATEL Services provides fiber connectivity utilizing its unique independent member-owned network. INDATEL’s members represent more than 400,000 fiber optic route miles and over 1.5 million serviceable buildings primarily focused on rural and suburban America. INDATEL serves its customers through its national aggregation PoPs, reaching over 700 independent providers currently operating in 47 states.
