INDATEL Services Welcomes Doug Romi as Vice President of Enterprise Sales

Overland Park, KS – INDATEL Services is proud to announce the appointment of Doug Romi as its Vice President of Enterprise Sales, marking the start to an exciting chapter in the company’s national growth strategy and its commitment to delivering world-class connectivity solutions to rural and underserved communities across the United States.

“It is an honor to have Doug Romi join the INDATEL team. His proven ability to build enterprise channels and his extensive telecom leadership will be invaluable as INDATEL expands its reach and delivers greater value to our members,” said Justin Forte, CEO, INDATEL Services.

Romi joins INDATEL with more than 25 years of telecommunications leadership, a proven track record of building high-performing teams, and deep experience launching and scaling enterprise sales organizations. His career includes influential roles at Sprint, Bluebird Fiber, Birch Telecom, and Lucent Technologies – experiences that have shaped his collaborative leadership style and a strong passion for empowering teams to succeed.

“Stepping into INDATEL feels like returning to my roots,” Romi said. “INDATEL has the same energy and entrepreneurial spirit I experienced early in my career: small, focused, and poised for tremendous growth. The opportunity to help build an enterprise sales engine here is not only exciting, it feels natural.”

During his tenure at Bluebird Fiber, Romi helped shape and expand the company’s enterprise efforts during a period of rapid growth. His familiarity with INDATEL, dating back to his early days when back-of-card branding and shared ownership connected the two organizations, allowed him to immediately step into his new role with clarity and conviction.

Romi’s experience has uniquely prepared him to lead INDATEL’s expansion into enterprise markets nationwide. He has successfully built and coached sales organizations multiple times throughout his career, using a leadership philosophy shaped by years in competitive sports: “Accountability, teamwork, and trust are the foundation of strong performance.”

As INDATEL accelerates its enterprise initiatives, Romi is focused on developing a high-impact team, strengthening relationships with managed service providers and channel partners, and expanding INDATEL’s reach into key verticals such as transportation, manufacturing, financial services, logistics, and other multi-location industries.

“One of our biggest opportunities is name recognition,” Romi noted. “Just as I helped build enterprise awareness in previous roles, we’ll do the same here – together. Customers already see the value. Now we get to bring it to the forefront on a national scale.”

His enthusiasm for the road ahead is fueled by the belief echoed by many longtime industry leaders: INDATEL is uniquely built to serve the enterprise market, leveraging the strength of its national rural fiber network, carrier-grade performance, and local-to-national partnership model.

Outside of work, Romi is an avid golfer, longtime sports enthusiast, and a dedicated family man. He shared that these are sources of motivation that have driven his success for decades. His passion for mentorship and leadership is reflected in countless stories from former team members who credit him with shaping their careers through trust, encouragement, and clear expectations.

“The fun part of building a team is watching people grow into success they didn’t think they could achieve,” Romi shared. “Sales is simple, but not easy. When you combine effort with belief, and support people along the way, that’s when results happen.”
