INDATEL Services CEO Mel Wagner Jr. Announces His Retirement
After 10 years working devotedly at INDATEL and serving as CEO, Mel Wagner Jr., is set to retire and his last day will be December 31, 2023.
Wagner was the second employee ever hired at INDATEL and served in several roles including: finance, operations, engineering, sales, and marketing. During his tenure, Wagner guided INDATEL to a remarkable thirty-fold growth in both revenue and workforce, all the while ensuring a stable and profitable bottom line. Under his leadership the company has grown to represent over 500,000 miles of rural fiber, 2.3 million serviceable buildings, and 13 national aggregation points of presence.
After careful consideration, Wagner has decided that now is the opportune moment to transition into a new phase of life. This shift aims to prioritize the significance of faith, family, and friends. This decision is driven by a commitment to support his family, particularly his mother after the passing of his father last year, and to devote more time to his beloved wife. Wagner’s entrepreneurial pursuits in this new chapter will encompass family farm operations, livestock ventures, and create space for his favorite hobbies such as fishing and golfing. “It is with great pride and honor that I announce my retirement from INDATEL Services,” Wagner said. “I consider myself fortunate to have had the chance to foster the growth of INDATEL. I’m genuinely humbled to have been surrounded by a resolute team, board, members, owners and colleagues. I am confident that INDATEL Services will continue to be a leader in telecommunications hereafter. I feel fortunate to have developed friendships both in and out of the industry throughout my 33-year career.”
“As Wagner departs, we reflect on his valuable leadership and contributions. While we’re saddened by his departure, we are heartened that he will now have more time to spend with his family—a well-deserved reward for his dedicated service.” says Mark Lundy, INDATEL Board President. The INDATEL Board of Managers is dedicated to identifying a successor who aligns with the company’s shared corporate values.
